Dedicated to Old Fishing Tackle
Monty's Catfish Scent
c. unknown
This must have been what every tackle box carried. Can you think of an old tackle box that
you've found that didn't have some smell of stink bait in it?
Kingfisher Bass Flies Display Card
c. 1939ish
This display is practically identical; size, format, deisgn, to
those promoted by Weber in 1939. Could be they were using the same print company but that is speculation at this point.
Small, not many found with the Kingfisher brand.
True Temper Fishing Rods Display
c.1928/29
A store display promoting the True Temper series of fishing rods, with painted largemouth
bass on board, having six holes at the base with six metal clips at the top to hold the rods in place. The reverse has a company price
list and specs for the 1928/29 selling season.
Weber Fly Tackle Display
c.1939ish
Seems Weber really started offering counter displays around the 1939 era. There is a
picture of a rainbow track in their 1939 catalog seems to be the inspiration for this counter display. Also some of the other
small card displays appear to have this graphic at the hearder section of their layout. Small, a seldom seen Weber counter display
with upleaping rainbow trout. Most reflect an upleaping bass.
Ideal Fishing Supplies Counter Display
c.unknown
Unknown display. From the graphics and printing, probably dates to
the late 40's to 50's timeframe. Small, with nice graphics.
Helin Flatfish Reverse Glass Painted Display
c. unknown
Small, metal framed reverse glass Helin Flatfish display. Any revers
glass painted display is rare and then throw in the manafacture here and add an extra level of rare. Like so
many reverse painting pieces, this one is showing some flaking, but find another. Scarce. circa unknown
