Luny Frog Counter Display
c. 1927-28

This particular cardboard die-cut is extremely rare.  It retains its original easel backs, which are usually missing on pieces from this period.

Although no copy write date is on this piece, the style and Luny Frog in the mouth of the fish would indicate this was used around, or shortly after, the Luny Frog was introduced.  Even more rare is the small example shown here with the large display.  Only example with the Luny bait known in this size.

Heddon River Runt Spook & PAL Rods
c. 1939

This counter display reflects the transition to the Heddon wedge banner logo.  The left one is very large while the one on the right is sized for a counter. Tough pieces and rarely seen together.

Heddon Lone Eagle

c. 1930

Advertising the Lone Eagle reel, this particular display is unique in that Heddon is using a Eagle very much like that of Wright McGill to promote their product.  One of the few advertising pieces by Heddon depicting something other than a bass to promote their product.  Small in size, the colors, format and overall all presentation is a real eye catcher.

Heddon Advertising Mobile
c. 1956

Designed to hang from ceiling, this Heddon mobile display is promoting the: Wag, Hep Spinner, Spin Fin, River Runt Spook.  It appears there was one more fish component, unfortunately it is missing leading one to only guess what bait it may have been reflecting.  Based on baits of this period it could have been the Gamby Spinner or the Heddon Weedless Spoon.  We may never know, to date no literature has been located specific to this advertising piece by Heddon.

River Runt Spook Counter Display

Only a couple of these Heddon Runt Spook displays are known.  The piece actually folds in the middle.  Fish was painted by Herb Childly.  The original painting was commissioned by John Heddon and for many years hung over his desk at the Heddon factory. (source Bill Roberts)

Heddon Spoon-Y Frog
c.1928
For years various Spoon-Y baits have turned up attached to what everyone believed to be card inserts for the corresponding lure box.  Turns out they all were attached to the remains of a counter display that had been cut up with the baits attached.  An ebay find in bad shape it required extensive restoration, reconstruction and preservation as the pictures show.  The three baits shown are original to the display still attached with the original retention string.  The one in the frame was found in the Heddon archive portfolio, never having a lure attached.  Only two examples known.  Rare
